S-200 FAQ’s


Can I install S-200 on my own?

Yes, but we suggest only well experienced D.I.Y users to install the device. This is because each door frame is different and when it comes to installing the latch it may lead to complications if that is the case please call your local handyman or locksmiths.

Can I install S-200 outside the main front door?
Yes you may. S-200 can withstand temperatures of -20 to 80 degrees Celsius. Furthermore s-200 is one of the only few fingerprint devices to have a front protective cover. So you will have that extra peace of mind that no rain or **impact will damage the device.

What temperature can S-200 withstand?
S-200 can withstand temperature of -20 to 80 degree Celsius and humidity from 10% to 80%.We adapted a slide cover to protect the sensor and front body. Even if it rains or snows the slide cover protects the system. You will be glad to know that the device has been specially painted/ coated with the same materials found in a car.

How many people can use the S-200?
We recommend 25~30 uses for optimal use. If there are many users we then recommend, using the password function. In an office environment we recommend you change the password periodically to keep unwanted and disgruntled ex-employees away. *If you are interested in T&A (time & attendance) please contact us for further assistance.

How can I install S-200 to my house, if there is a sub door lock?
S-200 is easy to install and remove as it is separated from main knob.
If there is a sub door lock, you can easily install S-200 after removing the existing door lock. If you remove the existing door lock, there will be a hole about 32~35mm diameter. You can use the existing hole for installation.

Is it possible to install S-200 to every door?
You can install S-200 to every door except a glass door because; it is very difficult to make a hole for a correct installation.

Is it possible to install S-200 on any door regardless of the doors thickness?
If you want to install S-200 to a door which thickness is less than 35mm, you can cut the main screws which connect the front body and the iron plate according to the door thickness. If the thickness it is over 50mm, you can use longer screws which is not provided in the packaging. If your still having problems please contact us.

Is it possible to install S-200 to a door that opens on both sides?
Yes this is possible.
We have to push our door in order to open it. Is it ok if we install S-200 to that door?
There is no problem as the latch ring which we offer will suite both style of push and pull door system. You may need certain equipment for proper installation according to door frame style.

If I move houses may I take S-200 with me?
Yes, it is possible it to take S-200 to another house [Fingerprint Condition]

Fingerprint Condition

Is it possible to use S-200 with an imitated fingerprint made by Silicon?
Although you can make imitated fingerprints, you can not open the lock with it because it is not a living fingerprint. S-200 detects not the outer skin but the inner skin using RF.

The rejection ratio is higher than our expectation. What is wrong?
If your finger is exceedingly dry, your identification may be rejected.
In this case, please moisten to your finger with steam from your breath.
Also, if you made a mistake when you register your fingerprint, your identification may reject. As you know, the sensor consists of two parts the middle and white lines. Please cover all white line with your finger when you register. As for registration, please refer to our user manual.

Can I register a Childs fingerprint?
Please refer to the “User manual” and other material.
As you know, child’s fingerprint is still developing day by day. Please register their fingerprint every six month.

My parents are very old. Can they use S-200?
Generally older people use S-200 without any problem. However, there are small group who have unclear fingerprints due to previous job. I.e. working in a factory. In this case, please use the password function.

Using S-200

What does “Master” mean?
Mater has the right to register, modify and delete a fingerprint. If you are not registered as a master, you can not register or delete any fingerprints.

Why do we have to choose an ID when we register our fingerprint?
It helps to manage the system as you will know which number belongs to correct person. The device notices your ID when you use the system. It is easy to delete an ID as everyone has their own ID. When you use tracking function, the system can show the last 20 users by their ID.

If someone visits our place, how can they enter and leave without a registered fingerprint?
If someone wants to use S-200 without a registered fingerprint, the visitor has to use a password. Please change the password after visitor uses it.

What is Auto lock function?
Pressing this function when entering/leaving your home or office allows the device to lock automatically after seven seconds. This works by two magnets one on the back of the lock and the other on the latch. Although the door closes automatically, we recommend you to press CLOSE button to make sure.

How do I set auto lock function?
Please press AUTO button for at least 2 sec.
You will hear a buzzer sound when the function set.

How can I check whether my fingerprint is registered correctly or not?
There is a process to check fingerprint registration. Please put your fingerprint when LEM flickers green color after registration. If your fingerprint registered correctly, S-200 will operate without any problem.

How can I use S-200 when the sensor is broken?
Please use a password and contact us. You can use the system continuously after changing the sensor module.


Correct action for Error

How can I enter my residence when the battery is dead?
You can use S-200 at least 10 days after the first buzzer for battery discharge. Please change the battery as soon as possible after the buzzer. If there is no power, please connect DC9V to emergency connector which is located at the bottom of the front body.

Although I set auto lock function, the door is not closed automatically?
Auto lock is operated by two pieces of magnetic sensor which is located in the latch and back body part of the device. If the gap between the two magnetic sensors is wider than the magnetic field, it will not operate auto lock. Furthermore it might be that you have interception function on. In this case take it off interception then resume to auto lock.
There is a buzzer sound when the door is not closed.
There will be a buzzer sounds when door is not closed properly when the auto lock function set.

When I press OPEN/CLOSE button, there is a buzzer sound and E4 appears in the window.
The latch moves according to two optical sensors in key box. If there is any dust or foreign material in the space between two sensors, it will not operate. Please check whether there is any material in the space or not.

How many times can we use S-200 without changing the battery?
According to our tests, you can use it 5000 times. The most important thing is the operation condition.

What happens if someone tires to dismantle S-200 by force?
If someone tires to dismantle it by force, there will be an 80DB buzzer sound to alert of intrusion.

What happens if someone hits S-200 with equipment?
S-200 is strong enough to protect system from any impact as it is made by Zinc & Aluminum alloy. However, we can not guarantee S-200 under unreasonable impact.

If someone breaks S-200 can they enter the premises?
There is no danger of invasion if someone breaks S-200 as it made by a strong material. Further more, if someone attempts to break or dismantle S-200, it will respond with a buzzer sound. But we recommend having a monitored alarm system in your premises. S-200 can only secure what ever room you place the device in.


Emergency Measures

Although I press the buttons, they do not work?
Please press reset button which is located on the right side of slide cover rail.
If there is no difference, please check connection cable that connects the front body and back body. Connection cable consists of 30 pins. If one of pin is not connected properly, that may be reason.

The LED lamp is not turned on. Sometimes the LED lamp does not work normally.
Please press reset button. If there is no difference, please contact us as the reason may be caused by incorrect installation or abnormal use.

There is no message in the window display. Sometimes it shows a strange message.
Please press reset button or check the connection cable.
If there is no difference, please contact us as the reason may cause by incorrect installation or abnormal use.

There is no sound when we register our fingerprint.
Please press reset button or check the connection cable. If there is no difference, please contact us as the reason may cause by incorrect installation or abnormal use.

Errors caused by incorrect installation.

If installer connects connection cable abnormally?
Condition) Abnormal operation.
Reason) The cable cover is damaged. The cable has a short circuit.
Solution) Please connect the cross cable after twisting 4 or 5 times.

If installer has not checked the connection cable condition?
Condition1) Device will freeze unexpectedly
Condition2) Abnormal operation.
Condition3) Although the back body operates normally, the front body operates abnormally.
Reason) The connection cable has been connected incorrectly.
Solution) Please check the connection cable’s condition. The connection part consists of 30 pins.


If the back body plate is not fixed properly?
Condition1) The latch does not operating normally. (Door does not open or close)
Condition2) Whenever the customer wants to use the system, he must press the reset button.
Condition3) Although the customer presses the reset button, the system continues to operate abnormally.
Condition4) The battery lasts less than expected. is short abnormally than expectation.
Condition5) Front body is loose.
Reason) The screws for the back body fixing interrupt motor movement.
Solution) Please fix it with an electric drill. The plate may bend if you apply too much pressure. Please pay attention to this point. It may cause abnormal operation.

If the latch is installed carelessly?
Condition1) The latch ring moves very easily.
Reason) The screws which fix the latch ring to the door frame are frayed.
Solution) Please make a hole for the latch ring by fixing with a 2.5mm drill before installation

If the installer has improperly crossed the connection cable?
Condition1) The battery loses power quickly.
Condition2) The system shows E4 without any motion after the customer presses the Open/Close button.
Reason) The cross cable interrupts motor movement and overburdens the system.
Solution) Please push the twisted, black cable into the hole.

If the installer has fixed the Key box plate to the door with too much force?
Condition1) It is very difficult to raise the cover.
Condition2) Because of friction, there is a strange sound when the customer raises the cover.
Reason) The back body plate has been bent by strong power. It interrupts the movement of the slide cover.
Solution) Please fix it with an electric drill. The plate could bend if you fix it with too much force. Please pay attention to this point. It may cause the S-200 to operate abnormally.

If the installer did not clean up around the hole after making it?
Condition1) The system operates abnormally.
Reason) There are some foreign materials like scrap around the hole.
Solution) Please clean up around the hole after making it.

If the installer installs the latch to the door frame; disregarding the magnetic sensor?
Condition1) Although the customer settled the auto lock function, it is not working and displays the “E4” error message.
Reason). The installer installs latch ring regardless magnetic sensor.
Solution) Please reinstall the latch ring to door according to the magnetic sensor, or control the gap.
